The Noguchi Kumataro Tea Garden (Noguchitokutarosyoten Co., Ltd.) was founded in 1874 in Sashima-gun, Ibaraki Prefecture by Kumataro Noguchi, the first generation of tea growers, and the company is now in its fifth generation. Sashima-gun, Ibaraki Prefecture, has long flourished as a tea production area in the northern part of Japan, and its tea is now called Sashima-cha. Sashima-cha became the first Japanese tea exported to the United States in 1859 through negotiations with Townsend Harris, the first U.S. Consul General in Japan.

The company aims to create a new tea culture while carefully preserving the traditions and techniques that have been cultivated over five generations. The product features a unique textured Japanese Washi Paper with a pattern of beautiful flowers blooming on the waterside. When the outer lid is turned around, it snaps into place when the patterns match. The pattern is embossed to create an uneven, three-dimensional finish, giving it a luxurious feel. The air-tight outer metal lid and food-grade inner lid preserve loose tea for a long period. The size is 155mm (H) - 74mm (D), and the product contains about 200g of loose tea. The product is made in Japan.
