Established in 1874 in Sashima-gun, Ibaraki Prefecture, Noguchi Kumataro Tea Garden (Noguchitokutarosyoten Co., Ltd.) is now in its fifth generation of tea growers. The Sashima-gun region has long been renowned as a prominent tea production area in northern Japan, with its tea now commonly referred to as Sashima-cha. In fact, Sashima-cha was the first Japanese tea to be exported to the United States in 1859, facilitated through negotiations with Townsend Harris, the inaugural U.S. Consul General in Japan.

Our company is committed to creating a new tea culture, while meticulously preserving the traditions and techniques that have been cultivated over the course of five generations. We take great pride in offering the highest quality, uniquely textured Japanese Washi paper, adorned with seasonal flowers, paper cranes, and drums.

When the outer lid is rotated, it clicks securely into place once the patterns are properly aligned. The air-tight outer metal lid, paired with a food-grade inner lid, ensures the long-term preservation of loose tea.

Please note that the colors may not be perfectly uniform, as each item is hand-colored by skilled craftsmen. Therefore, there may be subtle individual differences, and the color may appear more black than dark blue. We kindly advise you to take this into consideration.

The product dimensions are 155mm (H) x 74mm (D), with an approximate weight of 200g of loose tea. Made in Japan.
