Noguchi Kumataro Tea Garden (Noguchitokutarosyoten Co., Ltd.), our company, was founded in 1874 in Sashima-gun, Ibaraki Prefecture by Kumataro Noguchi, the first generation of tea growers, and we are now in our fifth generation. Sashima-gun, Ibaraki Prefecture, has long flourished as a tea production area in the northern part of Japan, and its tea is now called Sashima-cha. Sashima-cha became the first Japanese tea exported to the United States in 1859 through negotiations with Townsend Harris, the first U.S. Consul General in Japan. We will create a new tea culture while carefully preserving the traditions and techniques that have been cultivated over five generations.

The Highest Quality Unique Textured Japanese YUZEN Washi Paper is used in our product. When the outer lid is turned around, it snaps into place when the patterns match. The Air-tight Outer Metal Lid and Food-grade Inner Lid Preserve Loose Tea for a Long Period. The size of the product is 155mm (H) - 74mm (D), and it contains About 200g Loose Tea. The product is Made in Japan.

The Sashima-cha tea that we produce has a long and rich history, dating back to the 19th century when it became the first Japanese tea to be exported to the United States. This remarkable achievement was made possible through the efforts of Townsend Harris, the first U.S. Consul General in Japan, who negotiated the export of this exceptional tea.

Our company, Noguchi Kumataro Tea Garden, has been dedicated to preserving the traditions and techniques of tea cultivation for five generations, since its founding in 1874 by Kumataro Noguchi. We take great pride in our commitment to creating a new tea culture while safeguarding the legacy that has been passed down through the generations.

The unique and exquisite packaging of our Sashima-cha tea is a testament to our dedication to quality and attention to detail. The Highest Quality Unique Textured Japanese YUZEN Washi Paper used in the design of the product not only adds to its visual appeal but also helps to preserve the freshness and aroma of the loose tea within. The Air-tight Outer Metal Lid and Food-grade Inner Lid work together to ensure that the tea remains fresh for an extended period, allowing our customers to enjoy the full flavor and character of this exceptional tea.

Whether you are a seasoned tea connoisseur or a newcomer to the world of fine teas, we are confident that our Sashima-cha will delight your senses and transport you to the lush, verdant tea fields of Sashima-gun, Ibaraki Prefecture. We invite you to experience the rich history and unparalleled quality of our tea, and to join us in our ongoing journey to create a new and exciting tea culture.
